Long bio

Randy Powell is a corporate keynote speaker, leadership strategist, business growth strategist and author, and the founder of The Encore Authority™. He works with corporations, associations, women's leadership programs, ERGs and BRGs to activate the experience, confidence, visibility and leadership potential of their most experienced talent—so hard-earned knowledge becomes contribution, influence and impact. At 59, Randy experienced a major career disruption and had to confront questions about identity, relevance, confidence and what came next. That experience shaped his belief that people entering a new chapter are not necessarily starting over; they are building from everything they have already learned. It also led to his book, Breakthrough: The Science of Getting Unstuck, and to the development of The Encore Authority™ and the Encore Authority Blueprint™: Clarity, Credibility, Visibility, Influence, Impact. Randy's style is conversational, practical, encouraging and action-centered. He combines storytelling, leadership insight, personal reflection, proprietary frameworks and audience interaction, and every program ends with a concrete action commitment.

Planner questions

Answers before you ask

How do we choose the right keynote speaker for our event?
Start with the outcome you are accountable for rather than a speaker's topic list. Match the program to the audience and the behavior you want afterward, then confirm customization, format and fit directly. Randy's Check Date & Fit process follows that sequence.
How is the program customized for our audience?
Every engagement starts with a customization conversation about your audience, your current priorities and what you want people to do differently afterward. Examples, framing and emphasis are adapted to the audience; the core content and frameworks stay consistent.
What formats are available?
A 45–60 minute keynote, a customized conference or corporate edition, a workshop or leadership-development adaptation, and a virtual or hybrid adaptation where appropriate. The right format is agreed during the fit conversation.
Who is the best-fit audience?
Experienced professionals and leaders—including corporate leadership and employee-development programs, women's leadership conferences and networks, ERGs and BRGs, associations, and multigenerational workforce initiatives.
What does Randy need from our AV team?
A handheld or lavalier microphone, standard projection with a confidence monitor where available, and the ability to move on stage. Detailed AV requirements are provided in the planner resources once your event details are confirmed.
Can Randy support accessibility needs at our event?
Yes. Slides and handouts can be shared in advance in accessible formats, Randy uses a microphone consistently, works with interpreters and captioners, describes essential visuals, and will discuss accommodation planning with your team.
How do we start the conversation?
Use Check Date & Fit. Share your event details and priorities, and Randy will follow up to confirm fit, availability and the right format.
